Nollywood is about to experience one of the best drama and thriller movies as Director, Awal Abdulfatai Rahamat takes ‘Descent’ to cinemas come December. With a fusion of talented non-Nigerian actors and Nigerian actors, the movie is set out with the intent to not just blow minds and wow viewers but to also leave its footprints on the sands of time.

The movie ‘Descent’ follows the story of Kalu Achebe (Zack Orji) and Andrew Morgan (Matt Stern) both underworld Dons that will do anything and everything to protect their families. They are tied to a twisted fate with Bongani Ndilovu (Phoenix Baaitse); humble farmer who simply wishes to protect his legacy; a thirst for vengeance and power.
Written by Bridget Phatudi and Awal Abdulfatai Rahmat and directed by Awal Abdulfatai Rahmat, Produced by AQ Entertainment and McAwal Productions, Descent stars Zack Orji, Matt Stern, Tayo Faniran(First runner up Big Brother Africa), Benedict Sebastian, JT Medupe, Chibuzo Nwankwo,, Palesa Medisakwane, Andrew Stock, Phoenix Baaitse, Sheena Deeparian and Ahmmad Kawser.


The movie addresses family, the consequences of Narcotics and arms dealing, mother’s love, love, Karma and lots more. The drama and Thriller genre movie was shot in Johannesburg. Parading talented actors, Descent is set to hit cinemas nationwide.

Director, Awal Abdulfatai Rahmat is a dynamic, proactive and spontaneously creative young man who in his early 30’s has worthwhile experience in TV content management, media business development and media marketing communications with prowess in creating bespoke entertaining, exciting and engaging TV and radio contents.

Descent has won a Recognition Award for Best Picture International Trailer and also at the 2016 completed Special Movie Award (SMA) in the Republic of Gambia.

The movie is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide come December 1st 2017
