As a woman in fashion , I always want to look the part but still feel comfortable, and personally I always err towards comfort. Add in the summer heat  and you can basically only catch me in looser, breathable silhouettes, either in a bright colour or a bold print. (or both). I’ve been struggling with my weight a little, so the relaxed cut of this Rococo top is perfect for me; polished yet playful and comes in the cutest chain print.

I spent most of the day walking (melting!!) around for the annual Pride Toronto parade and I wanted something that was reasonably comfortable but still, you know – vaguely chic. So I opted for my trusty white tee and leggings combo (Toronto is athleisure central so this is really a style uniform).  I threw a striped kimono from Zara over it and went for a print clash with my super fun leopard print sneakers. PS: Is my afro flourishing or nah?

“What to wear when the invitation says Gold & Glam? I’m not sure lol, but I did put in the effort to look as gold and glam as possible. I wore a shining gold wrap mini dress paired with gold sandals and a gold purse for Moet Grand Day – did I nail the theme?”

“There’s just something about brunch that makes me want to unleash my inner Carrie Bradshaw (- even though my style is more Samantha Jones). I wanted to look as girly as possible to fit the pretty location, so I wore a pleated pale pink skirt from and a simple tucked in white shirt. My Simmi shoes and red NY & Co bag completed the look.”

“Nothing says summer like a maxi dress! I enjoyed a day at the beach wearing this pretty maxi dress from Desire 1709. I added a cowries leg chain and a summer hat for that extra beachy feel. “

“I am forever shuttling between home, my campus and restaurants where I go to get some work done. With a schedule like that and so much to do, I definitely feel the need to do less by making my outfit work around a single particular `piece’. For this outfit,  my point of reference was my knitwear sweater which I paired with a classic pair of blue jeans and sneakers and with that, I  hit the road!”

`I am big on oversize and graphic tees, they just scream basic but not too basic and that’s what i am usually going for whether I’m headed to class, or just to a space to work. The only significant exception has to be when I’m going to a wedding or an owambe – which happens maybe twice a year. On this day, i simply wore a white oversize tee, paired it with dark blue jeans, and what is quickly becoming my trademark sneakers. My glasses and piercing came along for the ride because I’m not really Desmond without them.’

My style is comfy and very girly. I love pretty dresses and it is always my go to outfit for any type of event. What to wear when you are in sunny Dubai and at a hotel with a beachfront after breakfast? Definitely, this dress from @rhbstyle. I love that it is pink, airy, stylish and comfortable.

One important factor I consider when picking an outfit is the colour. I love vibrant colours and this timeless piece from @houseofdiadem was the perfect outfit for a brunch date with friends and colleagues.
